A: It is when labor is started or accelerated through intervention. There are several techniques for this and many reasons to do so, all of which you should discuss with your doctor. Induced labors are scheduled. A Registered Nurse will contact you the day before your scheduled induction and review the process with you. She will also remind you that actively laboring patients must take priority over scheduled, elective inductions.
