Q: Who needs an annual exam?

A: Regardless of age, we recommend an annual exam for all women. During a typical annual exam, a general physical examination (which includes a breast exam and pelvic exam) is performed. As part of your annual exam, certain tests may be recommended, i.e., Pap smear, mammogram, cholesterol, colonoscopy, and/or bone density. Be sure to tell us if you have any new problems or concerns since your last annual visit.

Q: Why would I need a follow up exam?

A: Follow up exams may be scheduled at varying intervals in order to re-evaluate problems such as abnormal bleeding, uterine enlargement, ovarian cysts, chronic pain, response to medications, review of tests ordered, etc.

Q: What if I am having a problem and need to be seen immediately?

A: If you are experiencing symptoms that cannot wait until your next exam, we will make every effort work you in.
