On April 28, 2010 Women's Care Center, the community of Lexington, Kentucky and the entire region of Central and Eastern Kentucky lost a talented physician, a dear friend and a partner when David Scott Guiler suddenly passed away from complications of a severe myocardial infarction. "Dr. Scott," as he was known to his patients, was the husband of Dr. Reva Tackett and brother of Dr. Mike Guiler, who are also partners with Women's Care Center.
Scott had delivered many babies to the women of this area and was beloved by his patients for his competent and compassionate care. In spite of his commitment to his practice, he always had time for outside activities including coaching basketball, baseball and serving as the team physician for the Henry Clay High School wrestling program. Scott was devoted to his sons Matt, Zach and Cody, as well as his stepdaughter Erin. He spent extensive time with his grandson, Joaquin, who was his favorite "buddy." Scott was an excellent cook, often preparing meals for large groups that he and Reva entertained. He was a faithful member of Crossroads Christian Church and was involved in many activities that benefited others through their ministry.
Dr. Scott was a kind, loving, generous, humorous, down-to-earth man who did unto others as he wanted them to do to him. His absence has left a tremendous void in our lives and in our practice. We miss him and are so blessed to have been touched by his presence in our lives.
