Why did you go into OB/GYN?
Ever since my first delivery as a medical student I knew I wanted to be an
OB/GYN. I loved being a part of women’s reproductive health care, especially pregnancy and childbirth. Many long-term relationships were started during that time and now that the focus of my practice has gone from pregnancy and childbirth to contraception, menstrual problems and menopause, many of those same patients have stayed with me – some for more than 20 years. My nurse Susan Fruge, my receptionist Jackie Warner and I look forward to several more years working together in women’s health care.
Dr. Moore was born in Lexington and graduated from Lafayette High School, the University of Kentucky and the University of Kentucky Medical School. He interned in the US Navy in Jacksonville, Florida and completed his residency training in OB/GYN at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Moore joined Doctors Ellis, Jenkins and Nunnelley in 1975 and has been affiliated with that practice through several name changes and mergers into Women’s Care Center.
Dr. Moore is married to Sarah Dodson Moore and has two daughters, Ginny and Kitty. They are looking forward to becoming grandparents for the first time in February 2009.
