Hospital Pre-registration
These forms can be obtained from your OB and then mailed or faxed to the hospital. Or they may be completed on-line. You may register at the hospital but it is a good idea to take care of this task before all the excitement.

Select a Pediatrician
Prior to discharge from the hospital, newborns will need follow up care with a pediatrician. If you are from out of town, typically your baby will be cared for by one of the pediatricians on staff on a rotational basis, although you can choose a doctor for this care. It is a good idea to choose your baby’s doctor well before delivery. Some patients will want to meet with their baby’s doctor prior to delivery. In fact, many pediatric offices in Lexington offer opportunities to meet the medical staff. You will also want to check with your health insurance company to see which pediatricians participate with your plan. The quality of pediatric care in Lexington is excellent. The choice for your baby’s doctor is oftentimes made by location, practice size, and recommendation by friends and your OB.
